“Even though romance is the most sold book genre, there is often a stigma attached to it, as well as to those who read it and write it. Because of this, I decided to create this Facebook group in 2018 as a safe, non-judgemental space for all of us romance novels lovers to enjoy.”
Our Story in Numbers
Meet the Team
Our team is truly international, covering different time zones and continents.
Andie Wood
Andie hails from Europe, but lives in New Zealand.
She created the group as a safe, non-judgemental space for all romance novels lovers to enjoy.
When she doesn’t do digital marketing work for corporations, she writes contemporary romance as Trinity Wood.
Sofia Aves
Sofia Aves is a romantic suspense author from Brisbane who writes daily in a mad flurry. She procrastinates by marketing and her head is filled with facts, stats, and floats on a sea of coffee.
Sofia is a mum of three crazies and an overly large fur baby who thinks she’s a teacup puppy. She lives near Brisbane, Australia.
Shanti MERCER
In 2018, Shanti stumbled upon The Romance Cafe while ambling through Romancelandia. In a most un-British manner, she failed to form an orderly queue, bagged a corner table, and stayed.
You may find her there with a gin & tonic in one hand, a romance book in the other, and a brain packed with useless facts. And sometimes, she bashes out romance novels on her laptop. Cheers!
Anna VOLKIN
Anna has always been an avid reader fueled by coffee and challenges. But when she joined the cafe, she discovered her life could use a little more romance and she never looked back.
Currently living in Romania and working as a freelance book cover designer, she also writes contemporary romance and delivers snarky remarks to anyone who would listen.
jenny Simon
Jenny is a bit like a Snickers bar – sweet but nutty. Voted most likely to turn an innocent comment into a naughty innuendo (okay, there was no vote, but if there was…), she is equally quick with a witty comeback or a kind word.
She lives in Southern New Jersey with her husband. She is grateful for the friendship and support she’s found in the Café. She loves romantic comedies, sports romances, and shifter stories.
